FABRIZIO BRAGHIERI (IT 1967)

Artist Bio

The harmony of the case

Following the loss of a loved one in 2008, the artist completely covered his studio in Milan with white canvas. For six months he continued to conduct business, meeting many different people who flowed in and out of the studio, leaving physical permanent traces of everyday life on the canvas. After six month the paintings were removed from the floor to be stored as a "work in progress". Following a two-year sedimentation, the entire work was cut into roughly twenty individual canvases and laid on the floor of Studio Maffei Milano's during the artist's solo exhibition. Afterward, they traveled to New York City for a second exhibition; adding more tracks and contamination. On the last week of the exhibition, the works will be permanently removed from the horizontal plane to occupy space in the vertical one, hanging on the wall, testifying, through abstract forms, a conceptual project dictated by 'happenstance'...
